ProvenShot privacy policy

Last updated 12 October 2026. Effective 12 October 2026.

This is the privacy policy for ProvenShot, the Android app published by Kumkum Homes as site.kumkumhomes.provenshot.

No sign-up, no advertising and no analytics. Your photos and their locations stay on your phone unless you share them.

Terms of use

The short version

ProvenShot is a camera that stamps each photo with its location, time and a Proof ID. Your photos, and the places you took them, stay on your phone unless you choose to share them.

There is no sign-up: no name, email or password. The app contains no advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not sell your data.

To draw the map and address on a stamp, the app sends your position to Google Maps through our map server and to your phone’s built-in geocoder. If you buy ProvenShot Pro, Google Play handles the payment and RevenueCat confirms your subscription.

What the app uses on your phone

  • The camera, to take the photos you capture. Photos are processed on your phone. We do not receive them.
  • Your precise location, while the app is open, to print coordinates, the address, a map and an accuracy reading on the photo and to write GPS tags into the photo file. The app does not request background location.
  • Motion sensors (compass, magnetometer, barometer), only to print the optional sensor readings on the stamp. These readings stay on the phone.
  • Photos you choose in Android’s system photo picker, when you stamp an existing photo. The app sees only the photo you pick.

Each photo gets a random Proof ID and a SHA-256 fingerprint, calculated on the phone and kept in the app’s own library. They leave the phone only inside a photo or report you share.

What leaves your phone, and why

  • Your coordinates, map type and zoom, sent to our map server, which adds our credentials and fetches the map image from Google Maps. Usually once per area rather than for every photo. Our map server forwards the request and does not store it.
  • Your coordinates, sent to your phone’s built-in geocoder to look up the address. On most Android phones this service is provided by Google Play services.
  • A two-letter country code, sent to flagcdn.com to fetch the flag shown on the stamp.
  • If you use ProvenShot Pro: a random app-specific identifier and your Google Play purchase records, processed by RevenueCat to confirm your subscription. RevenueCat does not receive your photos, locations, name or email.

Each of these services also receives your IP address, as any internet request does. All of this traffic is encrypted with HTTPS.

Service providers

We use these providers to run the app. Each processes data on our behalf and for no other purpose:

  • Google Maps Platform, for the map image on each stamp.
  • Cloudflare, which runs our map server.
  • Google Play Billing, for subscriptions and payments. We never see card or UPI details.
  • RevenueCat, which manages subscription status for us, keyed by the random identifier above.
  • Flagpedia (flagcdn.com), for country flag images.

How long it is kept, and deleting it

Photos, Proof IDs, fingerprints and settings are stored only on your phone. Downloaded map images are kept on the phone for up to 24 hours so photos taken in the same area can reuse them, then removed.

You can delete a single photo, or every photo at once from Settings, then Delete in-app photos. Uninstalling the app removes all of its data. Copies you saved to your gallery stay until you delete them there.

We hold no account or server copy of your photos or locations, so there is nothing to delete on our side. To have RevenueCat delete your purchase records, email support@kumkumhomes.site and we will pass the request on.

Android permissions

Camera, to take photos. Precise and approximate location while the app is in use, for the stamp. High sampling rate sensors, for the optional compass and field readings. Storage, on Android 12 and earlier only, to save photos to your gallery. Internet, for maps and subscriptions. The app does not request background location, the microphone, contacts, or read access to your photo library: importing a photo uses the system photo picker instead.

Security

All traffic between the app and the services above is encrypted with HTTPS. Our map server keeps the Google Maps credentials out of the app and only accepts the map requests the app needs.

Children

ProvenShot is intended for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.

Your rights

Almost everything the app handles stays on your phone and under your control. For anything else, including your purchase records, email support@kumkumhomes.site. We respond within 2 working days.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published here with a new date.
